@akshay
After changing privacy.resistFingerprinting to true, Firefox had some trouble with displaying non-English characters. I had to revert the change.
@primejyothi@aana.site any steps to reproduce? I have not had an issue till now
Faced this issue in aana.site.
System Information : Fedora 37, KDE Plasma 5.27.3, Firefox 111.0.1 (64-bit)
Steps to recreate the issue :
- Set privacy.resistFingerprinting to True in Firefox
- Open https://aana.site/@primejyothi/110123247551309789
- The toot is mostly in Malayalam with few numbers and English words. Malayalam characters are not displayed properly.
- Set privacy.resistFingerprinting to False and the problem is resolved
Screenshots attached.
@primejyothi@aana.site It could be related to measures to prevent font fingerprinting. https://browserleaks.com/fonts
I have set a default font for Malayalam in settings -> fonts -> advanced and perhaps because of that, I don't get this issue.
On the other hand, funnily, when I went to https://developer.android.com/studio/preview today I got offered the Windows version because of the resistFingerprinting setting.
@akshay
Thank you for the information. I had tried to set the the fonts for Malayalam but that didn't work. I guess I will leave it as it is for the time being. Anyway, learned something new :)
I had to change a firefox setting after reading this post!
